Snickerdoodles

Here is the recipe for the world famous "Snickerdoodles."
Mix thoroughly:
- 1 cup soft shortening (part butter)
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
Sift & stir in:
- 2 3/4 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Roll into balls (size of walnuts) and into mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon On ungreased pan
- Put 2" apart and cook till lightly browned
- 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees F.
Makes about 5 dozen.
